An assistant on a round display has to read at a glance: what it is doing and how it feels. Every design follows one contract of 12 activities and 7 independent expressions, so any of the 50 characters can be compared on the same states.

Decisions

Colour never carries an activity alone

Activity is shown by geometry, pupil opening, gaze or field deformation. That keeps a state readable across the six shared palettes.

Every state has an entry, a hold and an exit

Waiting, input, error, completion, waking and sleep each animate in, hold and animate out, with interruption and recovery built into the controls.
